At Yakky we are proud and excited to announce our partnership with Forest Carbon. Up to August 2020 Forest Carbon and partners had created 185 new UK woodlands, totalling 9.5 million trees, and covering 15,000 acres (plus 11 woodlands in Ireland, and a further 2 million trees elsewhere). During the period 2014 - 2019 Forest Carbon’s projects accounted for 6.7% of all UK woodland creation. That’s a lot of trees!!

So how does this involve you?

Well, each time you buy or sell goods through Yakky you will be contributing to our friends at Forest Carbon, allowing them to continue their great work! The best part? Yakky will do everything for you by automatically taking 2% of any fees and directly supporting woodland creation. You will even get a monthly report showing how much you have contributed, and the number of new trees as a result.

They are only trees right, who cares?

WRONG!! Your contribution will provide new natural habitats for thousands of species of birds, insects, and mammals. Think of the animals!

Trees provide Oxygen and improve air quality, which is extremely important for obvious reasons….

Trees absorb CO2, removing and storing the carbon while releasing oxygen. To put this in perspective, on average, one acre of new forest can sequester about 2.5 tons of carbon dioxide annually. Wow! Did you know that trees can even mitigate flooding, reducing downstream damage? The leaves reduce and capture rain before it reaches the ground, while roots help the soil absorb the water. Incredible!
